Full Day Guided Tour

Thank you for arranging my perfect day-trip to Kamakura. Kumiko, my guide, met me at the airport with a (very impressive) sign with my name on it, and whisked me to the JR ticket booth, then onto the 1:15 pm Narita Express for the 2-1/2 hour train trip. During the trip she filled me in on the history of the Daibutsu and the area, and answered my myriad questions about Japan's economy, politics, tourism industry, and everything else I could think of. She also shared with me a very professional package she'd compiled of photos and facts about the Daibutsu. Once in Kamakura, she got us to the Temple in record time (since we only had 45 minutes from the time we arrived until the "inside" of the Daibutsu closed) so I could explore the Great Buddha - inside and out - as well as the beautiful grounds. We then went to the Hase Kannon Temple, which was not only beautiful itself, but offered a magnificent view of the shore and seaside town beneath it. After a stroll through the quaint town - and picking up some tasty snacks for the trip back to the airport on the Narita Express, Kumi filled me in the highlights she normally shares with those fortunate enough to take her Tokyo Highlights tour. We compared notes on how these famous sites had "matured" in the years since I'd spent a month in Japan in 1989. Again, I was so impressed with her knowledge and candor. In all, even though I was only able to stay in Japan less than a day, your company and Kumiko truly made the trip one of the highlights of my many travels. THANK YOU so much for making all the arrangements, and enabling me to feel confident that I'd be safe, traveling as a woman alone in a foreign land, with no native language skills, and no spare time to get lost! You're the best, and I'll be happy to recommend J.Tripper to anyone else I encounter who's heading to Japan.
